Features of This BBCOR Bat

The Rawlings 5150 bat is BBCOR certified. It has been approved for use in collegiate and high school play, so you can be certain that it’s safe to use.

As far as the specs go, the Rawlings has a 2 5/8″ barrel and has a balanced swing weight. It fits in your hand perfectly.

There’s also a cushioned synthetic grip so it feels comfortable even when held for long periods of time, and the warranty is good for 12 months, something other baseball bats don’t offer.

The bat, moreover, is of a one-piece design and has been Sci-Fly tested.

Unlike other baseball bats that conform to the standards, Rawlings designed the bat to be the new standard by which other baseball bats will be measured.

The one-piece design is not just a technological marvel, but it is made from the company’s trademark high quality alloy, designed for durability and high end performance.

One of the highlights here is the hitting surface on the 2 5/8 inch barrel, as it is very responsive.

Because of the way the Rawlings 5150 Bbcor has been designed, the hitting surface is far more responsive than ordinary baseball bats, and the hitting surface is complemented by the Rawlings Speed Cap and cap.

This feature, which will be patented soon, goes a long way towards improving a player’s hitting ability.

Finally there’s the 7/8 inch tapered handle. Combined with the premium grip provides you with superior control and comfort. This is something that’s traditionally difficult to achieve with baseball bats.

As anyone who’s used baseball bats before will tell you, they’re either powerful but hard to grip. Or easy to grip but lack power. The Rawlings bat has managed to overcome that imbalance.

What About The Rawlings Technology?

Rawlings also used its unique Sci-Fly Technology here, a revolutionary approach to developing bats. It evaluates the spin rate from the contact point as well as the speed, distance, ball speed and launch angle.

In short, this technology has allowed the company to assess every aspect of their baseball bats so they perform at the highest possible level.

There are a lot of other positive things that can be said about the Rawlings, including its stylish design and durability.

As many reviewers have noted, the bat is built to last. In spite of heavy use, it doesn’t snap in two like other baseball bats.

However, there’s more to it than just a fancy design. The entire bat was built using proprietary metal forming methods.

It must also be emphasized that the alloy used for this baseball bat is not the typical one used by other manufacturers, as it is aerospace grade.

What this means is even if you use it under extreme conditions, the bat won’t break.

Pros and Cons

Since the 5150 bat became available, it has become a bestseller, and a great many people have purchased the product.

If you’re one of those who want to buy it however, you should know what the pros and cons are.

Pros

  • The hitting area is large and very responsive, much more so than other bats
  • The bat won’t strain your hands even when held for long stretches
  • The 12 month warranty is longer than those offered by other baseball bat manufacturers
  • The bat is affordable
  • The bat looks great and when you strike a ball it flies off smoothly
  • It isn’t top heavy and feels light in the hands
  • The balance is just right

Cons

  • The bat makes a loud sound when hitting the ball
  • The design may take a few swings to get used to

What Consumers Have to Say

The Rawlings 5150 Bbcor is one of the bestselling baseball bats online. It’s been the subject of numerous reviews.

The majority of these reviews have been positive, and these should give you an idea of how reliable it really is.

For instance, an Amazon reviewer, Lexprovideo, said the Rawlings is the best baseball bat that his son has tried. He said that it has gone a long way towards improving his game.

Another reviewer from Amazon, Aiello Baseball, said that the 5150 baseball bat helped him when he played baseball in high school. He said that the feel, control and balance are very good.

The reviewer further stated that he always felt in control when he held the bat.

Another reviewer, Steve, said the bat is well balanced and has a very good pop when the ball flies off.

Finally, NRA supporter says the bat is exactly what he needed and it had the pop a bat ought to have.

Final Thoughts on The Rawlings 5150 BBCOR

As anyone who’s played high school or collegiate baseball will tell you, the type of bat you use makes all the difference. That’s why you’re better off buying a bat like the Rawlings.

The company claims that it will set new standards for high school baseball bats, and it is right on the money.

The bat, to put it simply, provides high end performance. As many reviewers have stated, the hitting surface makes a huge difference with regards to accuracy.

The dimensions of the bat clearly play a role here, but more than that, the Sci-Fly technology played a major part in making the Rawlings the responsive bat that it is.

The Rawlings 5150 Bbcor is an outstanding baseball bat and delivers where it counts.

The design, handling and power it provides is unmatched by other bats in its class, making this a must have if you’re serious about the game.

No wonder it’s one of the best selling bats online. I prefer to buy bats online, that way I don’t have to settle for what is at the store, Big 5 and Dicks Sporting Goods are very limited in their selection as far as I’m concerned.

You’re so right Lesley! They are super limited, hardly ever carry the top bats and are way overpriced.
